Haghpat Monastery
The Haghpat Monastery, founded in the 10th century, is located near Sanahin. Its construction took place during the reign of King Ashot III of the Bagratid dynasty. Here you can see several interesting buildings, including the Church of the Holy Mother of God, built in 1025, as well as St. Nshan (Sign), a book depository and other premises. The famous folk ashug Sayat-Nova lived and worked here at the end of the 18th century. The monastery was included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
